i have heard / (you used to speak)
: hot electric needle jumps across me
tears and marks me, peerlessly adverse.
: unstructured violence a stately jolie-laide.
you used to
distort the thunders and marry me to discord.
i have backed
your elegant disaster. magnetic loveliness of failure.
drunk girls in the bathroom sound
of shod horses clattering backwards
unsteadily in the stalls.
electropop tuesday & no one wants
to venture out into the rain.
minutes before the explosion
that ruins the block with clapboard confetti
the cold air and
natural gas stove scent
of my grandmother’s montreal flat
jumps out of the juvenile memory
like the rabbit she served me
jumped out of skin and coat.
